TherapyPractitioner-led

An old practice with a serious modern evidence base

Practitioner-led traditional and modern acupuncture sessions, delivered by Dr. Jasmine Khan, MD Acupuncture.

What it is

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a practitioner-led wellness session where very fine, sterile, single-use needles are placed at specific points across the body. Developed in traditional East Asian medicine and now studied extensively in modern research, the practice supports the body in releasing tension, settling the nervous system, and finding its way back to balance.

How it works

Acupuncture uses fine, sterile, single-use needles inserted at specific points along the meridian system to support pain comfort, autonomic balance, and recovery. Modern practitioners integrate the traditional meridian framework with current understanding of neuroanatomy and connective tissue signalling.

Dr. Jasmine Khan’s practice blends both. Sessions are calm, structured, and paced to your comfort.

We do not claim that these sessions treat any medical condition. We use the equipment as its maker designed it. If you want the fuller picture, including where the evidence is thin, read our Science page.

Who this is not for

Acupuncture, delivered by a trained, licensed practitioner with single-use sterile needles, is very safe. Mild bruising or short-lived sensations at insertion points are the most common minor effects.

Acupuncture is not appropriate over actively infected skin or, in some protocols, during pregnancy. Members on blood thinners are managed with a modified approach. Please share medical context at intake.

What actually happens

Arrival, intake conversation with Dr. Khan (10 to 15 minutes the first time, less on subsequent visits). Needle insertion at the points chosen for your concern. You rest for 20 to 30 minutes while the needles are in place. Removal, brief recap, and aftercare guidance.

Total session time: 45 to 60 minutes.

Cadence: weekly for the first four to six weeks of an acupuncture plan, then adjusted based on response.

Questions people ask

Does acupuncture hurt?
Most members feel only a brief, light sensation when the needle is inserted. Acupuncture needles are extremely fine (0.16 to 0.30 mm in diameter), much thinner than a standard injection needle. Once in place, the feeling is often described as warmth or gentle pressure.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your wellness goals. Some members notice a difference after a single session, while others benefit from a series of four to eight sessions over several weeks. Your wellness advisor will recommend a plan based on your Frequency Mapping results.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes. When performed by a trained practitioner using sterile, single-use needles, acupuncture is considered very safe. Side effects are rare and typically limited to mild, short-lived bruising at a needle site.
Can acupuncture help with stress and anxiety?
Many members report significant improvements in stress, anxiety, and sleep quality following acupuncture sessions. Research suggests that acupuncture may influence the nervous system's regulation of stress hormones.
What is a meridian?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, meridians are pathways through which vital energy (qi) flows in the body. There are 12 primary meridians, each associated with specific organs and functions. Acupuncture targets points along these pathways.
Can I combine acupuncture with other services at Gayatri AI?
Absolutely. Acupuncture pairs well with Cupping Therapy, PEMF Scalar Therapy, and Infrared Sauna sessions. Your wellness advisor will recommend combinations based on your goals.
Do I need a Frequency Mapping session first?
A Frequency Mapping session is recommended so that your practitioner can personalise the acupuncture protocol. However, standalone sessions are available.
Is acupuncture suitable for everyone?
Acupuncture is suitable for most adults. Please inform your wellness advisor if you are pregnant, have a bleeding disorder, or are taking blood-thinning medication. Adjustments can be made to ensure your comfort and safety.

This is layered into a plan, not booked on its own

It comes after a Frequency Mapping session, which is where we work out whether it belongs in your plan at all, and what it should sit alongside.
